Est 2020.
Black Book Direct is a directory of sustainable Black-owned brands. The website is curated by sisters Shama + Sasha. We want to make supporting Black business as convenient as possible by highlighting the best in one space.

Why we started:

The Black Lives Matter movement inspired many to research ways to support the black community. Countless #BlackOwned Twitter threads would end up lost in our bookmarks so we created a list of our favourites finds which we update weekly.

We want to uplift our community + encourage conscious shopping. We only feature sustainable + ethical brands because fast fashion production disproportionately impacts people of colour and leaves lasting environmental damage.

Who are we?
Shama is a CNN Journalist + Music Editor at Schön! Magazine. She pulls from seven years of fashion + media experience to find the most on-trend Black brands.
Sasha is an Architectural Designer known for her keen eye for style. As Creative Director she overlooks + collaborates on graphics + visuals.
